Background:
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) / Doctors Without Borders India (DWBI) is humanitarian medical aid organization working in more than 70 countries worldwide. Médecins Sans Frontiers is neutral, impartial, independent, and not linked to any political party or governmental body. Our teams provide emergency medical assistance to people in need, irrespective of their nationality, race or religion. In 1999 MSF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize as recognition for its medical work in several continents.
Mizoram Project started as a basic emergency service to the Displaced Population (DP) of Myanmar in June 2022. The refuge settlement is mainly concentrated in three districts, Champhai, Lawngtlai, and Siaha. We aim to assist the local communities with mobile medical clinics, mental health support, health promotion, water and sanitation support and Non-Food Item distributions.
Main Purpose:
Plan, organize, and evaluate the activities concerning nursing, health care ,health promotion, in refugee camps in Saiha district and the team associated, according to MSF values, policies and protocols and universal health standards, in order to warrant the quality and continuity
of the health care and the devel-opment of the plan of action. In referral path way of the project Providing nursing care, treatment, and follow-up of patients, according to doctors’ prescriptions, protocols applied in service and universal hygiene standards/precautions, to ensure
the quality and continuity of care for the targeted population.
General
Location: Tuipang, Siaha District, Mizoram.
Number of positions available: 1 (full-time position).
Availability: 12 months, with possible extension.
Starting date: Immediate.

Accountabilities:
Carry out the functions and tasks associated to nursing i.e., perform as a nurse, whenever required or needed, in order to optimize the resources, contributing with his/her knowledge and experience.
Implement all the protocols and hygiene procedures and caryout with CHE & CHWs team follow the same standards, in order to warrant the quality of the care and service in his/her workplace like outreach work in camps
Carry out and/or supervise the (decentralized) pharmacy and medical equipment management (drugs orders, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions, inventories, follow-up of expired drugs and their destruction, drugs consumption, etc.) in his or her department, in order to satisfy the needs of mate-rial with efficiency and effectiveness.in all PHCs and subcentres in Siaha district
Ensuring that all staff using medical devices are qualified and trained. Ensuring that cleaning and mi-nor maintenance tasks are performed according to the protocols. Reporting any malfunction to NAM.
Carry-out and/or coordinate administrative (exit-paper, transfer-paper, etc.), information and data col-lection (patient files, forms, statistics, etc.) tasks, and elaborate regular reporting, in order to have updated and reliable information about the day-to-day activity in the project, output/ outcome and support decision-taking.Give feedback/ reports to medical focal point.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:
• Monitor, assist the flow of referrals (from the camps) to Sub-Centres, PHC, District Hospital,
• To ensure for update of assessment kit in the medical store make inventory done weekly/monthly base then update and follow up near expired drugs.
• Update weekly/monthly base of Staff health, and first Aid Kit for the Vehicles
• join Assessment team during RHA and prepare medical drugs for Assessment with Medical team doing One shot mobile clinic.
• To supervise /plan day to day activity of the medical interpreter in the health facility.
• Create a short weekly activity report and monthly activity report of the referral patient.
• Ensure Referral logbook is updated in the SharePoint in daily/weekly bases.
• Communicate with Nursing Activity Manager on routine basis.
• Participate in meeting at the base
• Accompanies / guides patients and caretakers being referred to the referral hospital, to ensure that they receive the treatment according to the doctor diagnose
• Follow up of the final diagnosis, administration of the prescribed drugs, provided care to the patient
• Report on a regular basis and when necessary to the NAM/PMR and the medical Doctor about the status of the referred patients or if there are any problems
• Ensure that accommodation and food for patient is well arranged and liaise the admin fin department for related issues.
• Assure confidentiality for all referred patients.
• Follow-up and request the invoices from the hospital financial department and sending to the project for payment
• Ensure that the patient is discharged with a discharge paper with clear handwriting, diagnosis, treatment given and follow up.
• Arrange for the home journey for the treated patient.
• To ensure the availability of blood transfusion for the referral patient whenever needed in line with the Hospital policy
• To collaborate with the hospital regarding the follow up of possible emergency/outbreak event.
Requirements
Education: Essential recognized nurse degree/diploma. Desirable Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Experience: Desirable 2 years of previous experience and previous experience in other NGO’s.
Demonstrable experience in supervising and training others in a team setting
Language: English, Mizo, Mara Language Desirable
Knowledge: Essential computer literacy (word, excel)
